Dad Wrote Me A Love Letter

Dad-in-love

1996

Dearest Daye,

There comes a time when love becomes the condition of life. Men and Women accommodate themselves to it, till they learned something from that nature of life. Some felt fear that they might lose it. Others are beaming because they found it. Never the less, all of us endured the joy and agony that this strange feeling entailed. However we live with it, because more than anything else, this is God-given.

We are all aware that no other feeling could ever change or suppress the joy to love and to be loved in return. In our days, we defined love basically through our songs “and when our love through tears and thorn we will endure as we pass surely through every storm.” This line emphasizes the greatness of love we share and to be shared.

Your Mom is a very understanding, loving and dedicated woman. As you see, in spite of my job, my character and the whole of me. When she said “Yes” to my proposal it means that she is ready to love and be a part of my whole life through. Just like you.

I know you are very sensitive. We are both Taureans. I know that when you love a man, you love him with all your soul, but the irony is that – you stand on both end of the see-saw and you are much heavier than him. I want to be candid with you…this kind of relationship will never prosper. You are a career woman, beautiful and smart. Take this my dear: one of these days you can find a man worthy of your love, and when that time comes (I know it will come), I am more than willing to hand you over to him in marriage (I know Mom will share with me this prerogative).

Remember I am also a very sensitive man. I am a very keen mind reader, capable of perceiving things distinctively on a man’s character. Of course, I don’t want to intervene in your affair however the right is mine to protect you from falling in love with someone who speaks of tomorrow that will never come.

Take your time my dear…sometimes love comes from the most unexpected places. I am your Dad and always hoping for the best of my only daughter.

I love you always,

Dad
